Diploma
Part 1
The four compulsory papers are:
1) Economics
2) Organizational Behavior
3) Accounting
4) Travel, Tourism and Hospitality
Part 2
The three compulsory papers are:
1) Marketing
2) Human Resource Management
3) Travel, Tourism and Hospitality Operations Management
Students must also pass two of the following subjects:
a) Managerial Accounting
b) Principles of Business Law
c) Systems Analysis
- Diploma Part 1 and 2 papers are set and marked to the level of the
first year of a UK Business Studies degree programme.
- Upon completion of Diploma Part 1, the successful student will be sent
a scroll.
Following passes in the nine requisite Diploma subjects above, the
student will be awarded the Diploma in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality.
- It is recommended that students sit the Diploma Part 1 examinations
before attempting any subject in Diploma Part 2.
- Exemptions from Diploma subjects (up to a maximum of six subjects) may
be granted to holders of qualifications of certain other professional
bodies, provided that such qualifications have been obtained by external
examination.
The Method of Assessment for all ABE subjects is by written examination
and the following Grades are awarded:
Grade A - 70%+ Distinction
Grade B - 55-69% Credit
Grade C - 40-54% Pass
Grade D - 30-39% Fail
Grade E - 29% and below Fail
Candidates will be notified individually of their results normally about
two months after the examinations. The three-hour written examinations
are held twice a year (usually the first week in June and December).
Entry Requirements for Diploma:
Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
- ABE Certificate
- Two "A" Level passes plus four GCSE passes at Grade A, B or C, two of
which must be English and Maths
- Overseas qualifications which may be accepted by the Registrar as
being equivalent to the above
- ABE also welcomes applications from candidates without formal
qualifications who have been in appropriate employment for at least two
years. A reference letter from employer's) must accompany such
applications
English Requirement: If a Tier 4 (General) student will be studying a course that is below NQF Level 6 (except a Foundation Degree or an English language course), using a CAS issued on or after 12 August 2010, he/she must be competent in English language at a minimum of level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR):
The student must have passed an English language test with an approved test provider for Tier 4, and has achieved at least CEFR level B1 in all four components (reading, writing, speaking and listening). Click here for a list of approved test providers.

Advanced Diploma
The three compulsory papers are:
1) Corporate Strategy
2) International Travel, Tourism and Hospitality
3) Tourism and the Environment
Students must pass two of the following options:
a) Management Organization
b) Strategic Marketing
c) Strategic Human Resource Management
d) Managing the Information Resource
- The Advanced Diploma papers are set and marked to the level of a
second year of a UK Business Studies degree programme.
- Following passes in the requisite five subjects above, the successful
student will be awarded the Advanced Diploma in Travel, Tourism and
Hospitality.
- No exemption is granted from any subject in the Advanced Diploma
Examination.

Applicants must have obtained one of the following:
- ABE Diploma
- A UK Honors Degree or Overseas equivalent
- Other recognized qualifications of approved Overseas Institutes of
Higher Education
